Your opportunity:
- The role of the Staff Specialist is to assist the Director in ensuring that Orthopaedic services provided by Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals are of the highest standard. These services will be delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources by providing a professional and high quality Orthopaedic service to the Fraser Coast.
- The position will assist with the education and supervision of surgical trainees and other medical staff, medical students, and allied health, interested community groups and nursing staff as well as assist in the day to day management of surgical services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, research and service planning activities.
Permanent Full Time (80 hours p.f.) or Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable)
Opportunity for Private Practice:
The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals. The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:
- Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways
- Assistance with credentialling and administrative support to commence private practice
- Introduction to local GP's, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.

We are offering a competitive remuneration package value up to $549,694 p.a., including salary between $187,569 - $274,678 p.a. (f/t) or competitive salary between $89.86 - $131.60 p.h.
