About the Team
The Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Queensland Children's Hospital (CHQ) provides specialised, statewide care for children and young people with endocrine disorders and diabetes. The service supports patients across Queensland, delivering both outpatient and inpatient care through a multidisciplinary, family-centred approach.
The team manages a broad range of complex conditions, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, growth and pubertal disorders, thyroid and adrenal conditions, pituitary disorders, and rare endocrine diseases. The service also provides acute care for conditions such as diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and severe glycaemic events.
Care is delivered by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including endocrinologists, diabetes educators, dietitians, psychologists, and allied health professionals, working collaboratively to support the holistic needs of each patient and their family.
About the Role
This role primarily provides administration support to a broad portfolio of research activities, providing high-level administrative support to the Principal Investigator to ensure the effective delivery of clinical research projects. This includes coordination of study activities, data management processes, and oversight of administrative workflows across multiple concurrent projects.
Given the integrated nature of clinical and research operations within the service, the role also supports the coordination of complex schedules, meetings, and communications to enable alignment between clinical service delivery and research commitments. This includes managing competing priorities, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring key activities are progressed in a timely manner.
A key component of the role involves financial administration, including raising and tracking invoices, liaising with internal finance teams and external sponsors, and proactively resolving discrepancies related to invoicing, cost centres, and salary allocations.
The position requires autonomy, discretion, and initiative, with the ability to manage competing priorities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and support the efficient operation of both clinical and research activities.
