The HR Advisor role sits within the Talent and Organisational Development Unit. This unit is focused on growing our strategic leadership, problem-solving abilities, organisational effectiveness, and talent, and has been established to design solutions, foster change and organisational improvements and help to create the right workplace and attract the right workforce to successfully navigate our future in the department.
About the role:
As a HR Advisor, you will support the delivery of contemporary organisational development initiatives that strengthen organisational culture, capability and organisational effectiveness across the Department of Health. Reporting to the Manager, Organisational Development, the position contributes to whole-of-department outcomes through the design, coordination and delivery of human resource, organisational development and employee experience initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the coordination of employee experience surveys including planning, communication, delivery, reporting and rollout of results across the department.
- Manage and coordinate human resource and organisational development projects and initiatives to address organisational needs and priorities.
- Design, develop, deliver and evaluate contemporary and innovative organisational development resources and activities.
- Analyse organisational issues and provide evidence-based advice to internal clients through interpretation of data, legislation, directives, industrial instruments and HR policies and guidelines.
Role fit:

You bring strong project management capability, using structured methodologies and tools to drive outcomes. Your collaborative approach enables you to work effectively across teams and stakeholders to navigate complex and sensitive issues. With highly developed research and analytical skills, you can translate insights into practical solutions, while managing competing priorities, meeting deadlines and maintaining a sharp attention to detail.
While not mandatory, experience and/or qualifications in organisational development and organisational effectiveness related projects and initiatives would be well regarded.
