About us:
Eventide Home is an 80-bed residential aged care facility in Rockhampton, designed to create a welcoming, home-like environment for residents. Families are encouraged to be actively involved in activities and care planning. The facility features spacious gardens, covered walking paths with shaded seating, an interdenominational chapel, hairdressing salon, and a resident concert hall.
The home comprises three areas: Banksia, Courts, and Lodges. Banksia includes administration, the main kitchen, salon, chapel, and a multipurpose resident space. Courts consists of two units (30 beds) supporting psychogeriatric and cognitively impaired residents with high care needs. Lodges includes three units (50 beds) providing general high care, with a mix of private and shared ensuite rooms.
About the role:
- Undertake a range of duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse by assisting with the care of patients.
- Demonstrate awareness of the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) assessment process and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Understand, recognise, report and document observed outcomes and the changing needs of residents in a timely manner.
- Assist with meals/fluids which may include serving food, collecting used trays, taking meal orders, feeding designated patients.
- Participate in activities and therapy requirements for resident wellbeing and independence.
- Undertake cleaning duties to maintain a safe and clean working area including cleaning spills, body fluids, equipment and disposal of soiled linen and wastes.
About you:
- While not mandatory, having a Certificate III Aged Care (or equivalent) or are undertaking and successfully completed the second semester of the second year of a pre-registration university program in a nursing qualification approved by the Nursing and midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in residential care or a health service would be well regarded.
- Awareness of the Aged Care Quality Standards, expressing key actions the Assistant in Nursing could undertake to achieve these care standards.
- Ability to comprehensively observe and implement nursing care in conjunction or under the delegation of the Registered Nurse.
- Ability to understand and react responsively to resident centred care.
- Demonstrated commitment towards professional development and maintenance of mandatory competencies.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $86,824 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $35.05 - $38.37 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
