About us:

The Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) delivers frontline healthcare to the local community and surrounding rural areas. Supported by a dedicated team of 63 Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Operational and Administrative staff, the service provides a broad range of care including 24-hour emergency services, inpatient and residential aged care, community and public health programs, women's and children's health, home support services, and chronic disease management, including renal dialysis.

Woorabinda MPHS operates across three facilities, including a 7-bed hospital and community health centre, a 4-bed residential aged care facility, and a 6-chair renal dialysis unit. Plans are underway to expand the hospital to include a 14-bed residential aged care unit, bringing services together on one site.

About the role:

As the Clinical Nurse, you'll work with a high level of autonomy, delivering direct care within a rural and remote Aboriginal community setting. As part of the multidisciplinary Community Health Team at Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service, you'll play a key role in designing, delivering and evaluating health programs across priority areas such as Chronic Disease, Women and Child Health, Community and Public Health, and the Community Home Support Program.

Collaboration is central to this role—you'll work closely with community members, partner agencies and health professionals to strengthen health outcomes and overall wellbeing. You'll bring advanced clinical skills, particularly in chronic disease management including diabetes, and deliver care that is holistic, respectful and culturally safe. This includes recognising the ongoing impacts of colonisation and ensuring care is free from bias and grounded in understanding.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.
  • While not mandatory further qualifications or evidence of further learning or a willingness to obtain a qualification relating to Diabetes education would be well regarded.
  • Other beneficial attributes would be experience in Community and Primary Health Care nursing, and / or Rural and Remote Nursing, and an immunisation program nurse qualification.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
