About the role
As a Senior Forensic Mental Health Clinician within the Community Forensic Outreach Service (CFOS), you will operate at an advanced level of clinical and professional practice, delivering specialist forensic expertise across Metro North Health. This role sits at the intersection of clinical care, system collaboration, and workforce development.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Apply latest evidence and high-level understanding of contemporary, clinical practice standards as relevant to the coordination of information and provision of mental health services and forensic interventions.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement to resolve a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
- Provide high level consultation-liaison assistance to mental health services and other relevant stakeholders in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing risk management of complex patients presenting with serious mental illnesses and violent and other concerning behaviours.
- Exercise independent judgement, problem solving skills, and an understanding of current operational, organisational and cultural issues in implementing the model of service.
- Participation in operational and clinical supervision and governance processes.
