About the role

This role provides expert clinical knowledge and care for patients with diverse conditions, supporting the Acute Care Team through evidence-based, patient-focused care, education, leadership, and portfolio management. It involves guiding registered nurses and non-registered staff in complex situations, while collaborating with the interprofessional team to enhance patients' physical wellbeing, manage medication administration, and deliver psychotherapeutic interventions.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of consumer/patient centred care.
  • Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/patient using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
