About us:
The Medical Interim Care Unit is a dynamic workplace which treats Central Queensland Older Adults for a variety of medical conditions who are awaiting residential aged care placements. The ward consists of 11 beds, made up of 3 single rooms and 8 double rooms.
About the role:
Help shape the next generation of nurses by supporting and guiding postgraduate staff through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. You will actively contribute to building a positive learning culture by engaging face-to-face with nursing staff and working closely with clinical units and teams.
Lead by example, consistently modelling evidence-based practice at a high standard and encouraging others to deliver safe, high-quality care. As part of your day-to-day work, you will provide nursing services across healthcare settings, bringing both clinical expertise and a supportive approach.
You will practise both independently and collaboratively, confidently managing your responsibilities while also working as part of a wider team. You will take accountability for your own practice and play an important role in delegating care to enrolled nurses, assistants in nursing, and healthcare workers.
Throughout your work, you will build strong partnerships with Nursing and Midwifery, Allied Health, and Medical staff, contributing to a connected, supportive, and high-performing multidisciplinary environment.
About you:
- Demonstrate advanced level clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management and delivery of comprehensive person-centred care.
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the relevant standards and processes; engage in incident investigation, risk mitigation strategies that foster and support safe practice
- Demonstrate application of advanced clinical leadership through effective delegation, communication, problem solving and critical thinking.
- Facilitate and coordinate clinical education in problem solving, planning and coordination at an advanced level.
- Ensure the environment is conducive to learning, and that education content reflects evidence-based and contemporary practice.
- Demonstrate ability to provide simulation-based education through the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation programs, including developing training materials and resources
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $29,316 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
