We're excited to welcome a Clinical Nurse Consultant to our Alcohol and other Drugs Services team.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is required to lead and deliver expert clinical leadership in the provision and coordination of contemporary, person-centred care delivered in a clinical specialty within a dynamic health environment at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Registered Nurse Standards of Practice.
The CNC is expected to demonstrate an advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice and decision making in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
AODS multidisciplinary team provides contemporary clinical service for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework. Services provided are Intake and Referral, Consultancy and advice, Opioid Treatment, including Medication-Assisted Treatment of Opioid Dependence, Counselling and Therapy, Needle and Syringe Program.
The role will primarily provide clinical leadership for the Intake and Counselling and Therapy teams. This position will be integral to the ongoing Alcohol and Drugs of Dependence Service transformation to a tertiary level providing best practice models, inclusive of families/carers and contemporary partnerships, to meet the needs of people with substance use.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for explicit professional portfolio content and context expertise.
- Expertise in the provision of direct care and/or support of systems and/or education and/or research and/or professional leadership.
- Consultation and provision of professional advice.
- Responsibility for a cohort of staff reporting to the position.
Remuneration value up to $173 368 p.a., comprising salary between $139 951- $151 949 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG7).
