About the role
Based at Camooweal Primary Health Clinic, the Paramedic – Remote Hospitals delivers both primary and emergency care to the local community and surrounding region. Working as part of an integrated medical, nursing and allied health team, this role supports continuity of care across clinic, community, aged care and emergency settings. T
- Deliver high‑quality primary health, acute and pre‑hospital emergency care, including hospital‑based ambulance response, within an approved scope of practice
- Work autonomously in a remote environment while contributing to a strong multidisciplinary model of care
- Support community wellbeing through culturally responsive care, health education and engagement with First Nations communities
Working with us
- For 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,605. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,815… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,210 (pro rata for part time employees).
- In your downtime, we will provide 2 return airfares p.a. (full time employees) (inc. spouse/dependents) or 1 return airfare p.a. (part time employees) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
- Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.
Plus 2 weeks p.a., travel as required and enrolment and conference costs for approved courses and conferences.
We also offer staff accommodation (if eligible) or a private rental subsidy of AUD$82.50 per week for up to 17 months.
Requirements
- Applicants must be registered practitioners with the Paramedicine Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Applicants must have a minimum of three years, unrestricted patient-facing clinical experience as an independently qualified paramedic in roles. Applicants will be required to provide evidence of recent autonomous clinical practice.
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, a Queensland Light Rigid (LR) Driver Licence (for a manual motor vehicle) prior to appointment. Applicants who do not currently hold a manual LR Licence must have a minimum Queensland ‘C' Class Driver Licence (for a manual motor vehicle) prior to the closing date for applications to be eligible to apply. An automatic Driver Licence or Learner Permit is not acceptable. Interstate and international applicants must hold an equivalent licence at the time of applying and will be expected to obtain a Queensland Driver Licence upon appointment.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
