About your opportunity:

Provide high‑quality psychological assessment, consultation, and evidence‑based interventions to patients of Cairns Hospital, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team. As a Psychologist (Reliever) you will make a meaningful impact on patient wellbeing in a dynamic clinical environment while practising in accordance with the Australian Psychological Society Code of Ethics and Queensland Health Code of Conduct. In this role you will.....

  • Deliver evidence-based psychology services (both inpatient and outpatient) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide clinical advice to the multidisciplinary team, professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding the practice of psychology by participating in relevant forums/networks and being available for consultation as required.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise by engaging in, initiating and facilitating professional development activities, including specialist psychological education within the multidisciplinary team and to relevant stakeholders.
  • Accurately and consistently collect and report on clinical, professional and service level data in accordance with organisational directives.
  • Work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team and other support agencies to ensure effective and efficient discharge planning.
