The purpose of this role is to provide advanced scientific expertise within histology, supporting laboratory operations, guiding staff and ensuring high-quality diagnostic services across the Anatomical Pathology Main Laboratory.

What you'll do

In this role you will perform and oversee complex histological procedures, support and guide scientific and operational staff, contribute to workflow management and rostering, provide expert advice to clinicians and stakeholders, support training and professional development, drive quality improvement initiatives, maintain laboratory documentation and systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of services within a tertiary laboratory environment.

About you

We are searching for someone who:

• Holds a relevant Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification
• Has extensive experience in histology or anatomical pathology
• Can apply advanced scientific judgement to complex cases
• Has leadership or supervisory experience within a lab
• Has strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Has knowledge of quality and accreditation standards
