Administration Officer Mortuary
Townsville
As the Coronial Administration Officer with Pathology Queensland in Townsville, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality administrative support to Forensic Pathologists and the broader mortuary services team. Reporting to the Manager Mortuary Services, you will help ensure the smooth coordination of processes associated with coronial cases, while engaging professionally with Queensland Health staff, key stakeholders and external partners. This is a position that calls for discretion, professionalism and strong communication skills. You’ll be working with highly sensitive and confidential information, and at times will be exposed to explicit or distressing material. Your ability to maintain composure, demonstrate resilience, and apply effective coping strategies will be essential.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- High level knowledge of medical terminology and well-developed keyboard and data entry skills.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to enable communication with other professional staff and clients.
- Resilience to exposure from explicit information and material associated with completing coronial reports is necessary.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise tasks and work in a high-volume environment both autonomously and as a team member.
- Willingness to undergo a psychometric test if required.
