About us:
Lotus Glen Correctional Facility Primary Health Centre provides comprehensive primary health care to detained, remanded and sentenced prisoners across its high‑security centre and low‑security open‑custody farm. As an integral part of CHHHS, LGHS delivers care to a community with significant and complex health needs, including chronic disease management, infectious disease programs (such as Hepatitis C treatment), addiction medicine support, and general primary care services.
The facility operates in partnership with Mareeba Hospital and is embedded within a broader health service that spans over 30 regional, rural and remote facilities across 142,900 km², functioning with 95% clinical self‑sufficiency.
About your new role:
In your new role you will……
- Collaborate closely with the Mareeba Hospital medical team and have the option to engage in general practice or emergency medicine within the hospital.
- Provide comprehensive clinical care, from assessments and chronic disease management to health promotion and care planning, while maintaining accurate electronic medical records and ensuring strong professional communication.
- You will also offer leadership and clinical supervision to a skilled multidisciplinary prison health team, helping maintain a safe, culturally informed and patient‑centred model of care aligned with CHHHS values and the First Peoples Health Equity Strategy.
As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive base salary up to $274,678 per annum full time (L18 – L27) or up to $216,643 per annum full time (L13 – L18), you will also have access to:
