Role details

The Nurse Bank at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The CN provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.

About the Team

The purpose of Bank and Casual Pool is to provide a mechanism to support Clinical and Non-Clinical work areas with Nursing provision, from appropriately skilled staff to meet service delivery needs, which occur as a result of various forms of leave, including but not limited to with appropriately skilled registered and enrolled nurses to cover unplanned leave and workloads.

The team consists of registered nurses, enrolled nurses, students in nursing and assistants in nursing who follow the models of care of each area that they are allocated and in line with the strategic and operations plans of the MHHS.
