About us:

Biloela is situated in the Banana Shire and is the HUB centre for other Banana facilities including Theodore Moura and Baralaba. It is a 25-bed hospital and offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics. Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology and outreach/community-based facilities.

Biloela is located approximately 143km away from Rockhampton, and 121km from Gladstone.

About the role:

  • Provide leadership in the clinical setting by promoting and delivering safe, competent and flexible child health nursing practice.
  • Direct client services for children and young people, individuals and groups, within the context of their family and community in the Biloela and Banana Health Service.
  • Demonstrate clinical and problem-solving skills in the full scope of child health nursing practice for the 0-8 age group and their families/carers.
  • Attend Case Conferences and Case Reviews within Child Health and multidisciplinary meetings across the hospital and health service.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate as mandatory for this position.
  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma would be highly regarded. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe may form part of the performance and development plan.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policies and procedures relevant to contemporary practice and specific to the area of Child and Family Health
  • High-level interpersonal and communication skill that supports effective communication, negotiation, consultation and conflict resolution within a clinical multidisciplinary team environment.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $58,632 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
