Your new role:

Join a highly collaborative healthcare team as a Senior Pharmacist – Ophthalmology, where you'll play a key role in delivering specialised, evidence-based clinical pharmacy services. You'll contribute to improved patient outcomes while advancing pharmacy practice through education, research, and service development.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver expert clinical pharmacy services within ophthalmology
  • Act as a key clinical advisor to multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage complex patient cases with a high level of autonomy
  • Lead and contribute to quality improvement and research initiatives
  • Support cost-effective use of high-cost and PBS-listed medicines

About you:

You are a skilled and motivated pharmacist with a passion for specialist clinical care and service improvement. You thrive in a team environment and bring strong clinical judgement, communication, and leadership capability.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience delivering clinical pharmacy services (ophthalmology desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practice and medication management
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and prioritise effectively
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, or supervision experience

About us:

As a clinical support service within a tertiary level hospital, the PAH Pharmacy Department delivers excellence in person-centred care, education and research in most major adult specialties. It is staffed with pharmacist and clinical support staff members who have a range of experience and who are well respected and regarded in the organisation. Clinical pharmacy services are delivered across inpatient and ambulatory settings in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The dispensary is equipped with advanced technology which facilitates robotic dispensing, distribution and inventory management activities. The department actively participates in practice based research and medicine utilisation evaluation studies, quality improvement activities across Metro South Health Service, ensuring delivery of contemporary medication management and clinical pharmacy services.
