Rockhampton Hospital is the beating heart of healthcare in Central Queensland - 305 beds, a fast-paced Emergency Department, and a team that knows how to get things done. As the region's main referral hospital, our ED is at the centre of it all, supported by specialist services ranging from Intensive Care and Surgery to Paediatrics, Cardiology and more, plus visiting experts from Queensland's major tertiary hospitals. We're also stepping into the future with a newly established, state-of-the-art building delivering integrated cancer care, complete with modern equipment and cutting-edge facilities.
About the role:
- Drive performance, accountability and key performance indictors - including training compliance, leave and fatigue management
- Manage rostering and workforce coverage to ensure service continuity and financial efficiency
- Recruit, onboard, coach and develop ED administration staff through strong leadership and performance support
- Build strong working relationships across the ED to support communication, teamwork and high-quality outcomes
- Partner with Corporate Services and key stakeholders including the Business Practice Improvement Officer and Data teams to improve processes, data quality and information management
About you:
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in business, health administration or public service administration would be well regarded.
- Proven ability to lead and manage administrative teams in a busy clinical or multidisciplinary environment, including providing supervision, guidance, and support for staff development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate workloads and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively and professionally across all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders.
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new computer-based systems and proprietary software.
- Strong understanding of the unique demands of an Emergency Department environment, with the ability to stay organised, calm, and effective under pressure.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $117,603 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $47.18 - $51.98 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
