About the role
The Roster Support Officer plays a key operational role in supporting workforce sustainability across Metro North Health. Working within the myHR Business Support Services team, this position partners closely with nurse unit and line managers to ensure rosters are accurate, compliant and responsive to changing service demands. This role focuses on the coordination and administration of day‑to‑day workforce activities, including roster maintenance, relief allocation and time and attendance management.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide quality customer focused rostering and workforce management support services (including the planning, creation and maintenance of rosters) to nurse unit/line managers to ensure optimum workforce deployment.
- Pro-actively manage time and attendance records, liaising with staff and nurse unit/line managers to enable accurate scheduling activities and pay outcomes.
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship with nurse unit/line managers to understand the operating environment and requirements.
- Pro-actively undertake relief management (as required), processing unplanned leave, identifying relief staff for vacant shift, processing redeployments and assigning additional shifts.
- Provide strong support for nurse unit/line managers providing advice in relation to on-line rostering and workforce management transactions, escalating queries that cannot be resolved locally to Corporate Technology Services.
