About the role:

  • Whip up high-quality nutritional and dietary meals for patients and staff, nailing every Queensland Health and Food Standards requirement with flair.
  • Lead the kitchen hustle - oversee all day-to-day food prep, supervise OO2 Catering Officers, and keep food safety and cleanliness standards sky-high.
  • Team up with nurses, dietitians and staff to make sure every patient gets the right meal, while building a positive, fun, and professional kitchen vibe.
  • Jump into staff training, quality improvement projects, paperwork, meetings, and workshops while keeping the positive vibes and strong work ethic flowing every day.

About you:

  • You're a positive, upbeat team player with excellent communication skills who thrives in a busy, bustling hospital kitchen and loves working collaboratively with others.
  • You have solid knowledge or the ability to quickly learn hospital menus, dietary requirements, recipes, catering equipment, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
  • You're a great organiser who can efficiently juggle tasks to meet tight meal service deadlines and enjoy guiding and supporting less experienced team members.
  • You're comfortable using Microsoft Suite and are either already qualified or willing to complete a Food Safety Supervisor Course.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $83,100 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $35.04 - $36.73 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
