Your new role:

As the Nurse Unit Manager – Palliative Care, you will provide advanced clinical and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate and evidence-based care within Logan Hospital's dedicated 14-bed Palliative Care Unit by:

  • Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centred palliative care
  • Managing human, financial and material resources to support effective and efficient service delivery
  • Driving clinical excellence, quality improvement initiatives and accreditation readiness
  • Supporting workforce development, succession planning and a positive team culture
  • Ensuring compliance with professional standards, clinical governance frameworks and NSQHS Standards
  • Building strong relationships with patients, families, carers and healthcare stakeholders
  • Leading innovation, service improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives across the unit

About you:

You are a compassionate and experienced nursing leader with advanced clinical expertise in palliative care and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes with:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Extensive senior nursing leadership experience within palliative care or a related specialty area
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong operational management skills including workforce, budget and resource management
  • Advanced communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Proven experience driving quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance outcomes
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, education, mentoring and professional development
  • Postgraduate qualifications in palliative care, leadership or a related field highly regarded

Logan Hospital:

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
