The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Principal Investigator (Ethical Standards Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Plan, coordinate, conduct, manage and review investigations in a thorough, fair and impartial manner
- Assist in the development of recommendations or systemic organisational and workplace change
- Provide high level direction and recommendations to stakeholders on appropriate strategies to resolve allegations and complaints
- Assist with the provision of strategic and expert practical investigation advice and support to the Health Service Chief Executive and Executive Directors within Gold Coast Health
- Prepare reports correspondence and briefing notes
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification, such as legal studies, human resource management, industrial relations or a Certificate IV in Corporate or Government Investigations would be well regarded.
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (six months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $5 370.60 - $5 763.70 per fortnight

The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) acts on behalf of Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS) and provides legal advice and services to management and staff across a broad range of legal issues in a coordinated and cost-effective manner. It serves as a resource for informed decision-making and creative problem-solving to facilitate the health service's pursuit of its mission to be a leader in compassionate, sustainable, highly reliable healthcare.
The OGC is situated within the Executive Division of Corporate Affairs. It is comprised of the Legal Services, Right to Information and Privacy and the Ethical Standards Unit.
