About the role
Provide high‑level, evidence‑based clinical psychology services—individually and in groups—to patients with obesity being assessed for bariatric surgery, working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Exercise independent professional clinical judgement in provision of psychological assessment and interventions for patients with obesity, who are being considered for bariatric surgery, which are evidence-based or best practice, and evaluate the effectiveness of those interventions.
- Provide leadership and education regarding psychological matters to other members of the multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in clinical meetings and liaison with hospital staff
- Attend to own professional development of knowledge and skills appropriate to the role, including clinical supervision and contributing to others' by provision of clinical supervision as required.
