About the role
The Director of Physiotherapy plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping how physiotherapy contributes to patient care, service performance and system‑wide outcomes at Redcliffe Hospital and across Metro North Health. This position sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, workforce sustainability and strategic health service delivery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Apply expert level physiotherapy clinical knowledge to provide authoritative counsel and advocacy in the setting of state-wide physiotherapy professional standards of performance, strategic direction, safety and quality, patient care and inter service coordination through active participation and involvement in MNHHS and state-wide leadership forums.
- Utilise clinical expertise, high level knowledge of evidence-based practice and models of care to lead model of care and service improvement activities to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality clinical service to patients/consumers and stakeholders of physiotherapy services
- Be accountable for all aspects of operational management, as well as lead the Physiotherapy workforce development framework at Redcliffe Hospital including strategic direction and planning responsibilities across multiple service lines and clinical specialities.
- Apply expert clinical knowledge and skills to the professional management of the Physiotherapy Department, ensuring alignment with health service and state-wide priorities and adherence to professional standards and legislative directions.
- Be accountable for maintaining and developing strong relationships and partnerships as part of the Allied Health leadership team across the facility, MNHHS and state-wide, with consumer organisations, universities and service delivery partners.
