The Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Unit (NMERU) provides a recognised reference point for the educational and training support to nursing and midwifery staff within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS). The Nursing and Midwifery education team support the professional development of nursing and midwifery staff working in general acute, specialist areas and community environments across urban, rural, and regional centres through the development of innovative and dynamic strategies (including simulation) within the education programs.
About you:
In your new role you will…
- Supports the professional development of nursing staff, including Clinical Facilitators, less experienced nursing staff, post-graduate, and undergraduate nursing students and Assistant in Nursing (AIN)s, within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS).
- Promotes a learning environment through clinical support, instruction, and feedback including mentoring of less experienced nursing staff working within the Cancer Care services and at CHHHS.
- Fosters a positive culture of continuous quality improvement, including exemplary leadership practices and role-modelling behaviours, promoting cooperation and collaborative teamwork.
