About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service Medical Imaging Department operates across ten modern imaging sites, with Cairns Hospital Medical Imaging being the largest and most advanced. Our multidisciplinary team delivers emergency, inpatient, and outpatient imaging services, supporting approximately 162,000 examinations each year. We provide a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional imaging services using advanced technology to meet the diverse needs of our community.
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
About your role:
- Deliver high level medical imaging clinical services in general, emergency, mobile and theatre radiography within a multidisciplinary team.
- Work cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with other members of the multidisciplinary hospital team and with patients/clients.
- Undertake high level medical imaging duties in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, and with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
- Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
- Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced medical imaging clinicians and students to ensure the maintenance of professional clinical standards within medical imaging.
- Ensure patient care issues are managed, including liaison with other clinicians, clinical departments and external providers and patient related incidents are reported and documented according to hospital procedures.
