About the role
This position delivers essential operational, environmental and patient support services that enable clinical teams to focus on treatment and recovery. Working across a variety of hospital environments, you will provide responsive, hands‑on assistance in areas such as cleaning, patient support, waste and linen management, and on‑demand tasking.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Perform Environmental Cleaning duties as per designated task outlines and infection control protocols, ensuring areas are cleaned to the required standard.
- Respond promptly to unscheduled cleaning requests such as spills, infectious cleans or room turnovers.
- Assist health professionals in non-clinical patient care tasks including safe patient transport, turning, and mobility support in accordance with patient handling guidelines.
- Respond to on-demand requests from clinical areas to support workflows, ensuring patient dignity and safety.
- Safely change, lock and swap over sharps containers, ensuring they are placed into appropriate containment locations.
