Senior Scientist Haematology

Bring your advanced clinical interpretative expertise to a role where you will be recognised as a key resource within the department. You will take a lead role across one or more specialist areas, contributing to staff training and education, process documentation, quality monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as advanced instrumentation troubleshooting. This is a 12 month fixed term contract at 76hrs /fortnight.

Undertake duties with a high level of independence. Take responsibility for performing and validating a broad range of complex and varied flow cytometry, Haematology and coagulation investigations consistently and accurately.
Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skill in the performance of flow cytometry investigations in a clinical pathology laboratory.
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge and skill in the performance of haematology and coagulation, investigations in a clinical pathology laboratory.
- Significant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas - training, education, quality or troubleshooting in a haematology discipline.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership ability and contribution to the professional development of others.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems in the workplace.
- High level communication skills and ability to maintain professional relationships in the workplace.
- Ability to lead process improvement and client liaison activities.
- Understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
- Awareness of the human resource management policies applicable to contemporary workplaces.
