An exciting opportunity is available within Digitally Enabled Business Solutions to provide expertise and undertake specialised program/project activities to enable the successful delivery of medium to large scale, and complex projects. The Principal Project Manager will develop, implement and manage the Schedule, Budget, Scope, Risks and issues, including relevant processes ensuring compliance to governance standards and requirements. The ideal candidates will have demonstrated strong financial management, scheduling (Microsoft Project preferred), and reporting skills. You will be able to demonstrate your experience in writing complex governance documentation, tailored to varying executive stakeholders and reporting groups groups, including Project Initiation Documents, project reports, Sprint Plans and reports, Benefits Realisation Plans, and the like.

The Role: 

Reporting directly to the Program Director, the Principal Project Manager will deliver, monitor, and report on multiple project activities against agreed criteria.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS values as outlined above.
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
  • Ensure correspondence and communications are of a very high standard including detailed brief correspondence to executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is maintained within eHealth Queensland by leading a multi-disciplinary team/s
  • Provide advice and strategic input to project deliverables, to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health strategies.
  • Ensure projects are managed in accordance with the best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management (PM) approach to ensure consistent and quality outcomes are achieved.
  • Guide, lead and mentor team members and ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage projects by monitoring and reporting on project related trends and performance against project plans and budgets.
  • Enable informed decision making on project issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations and information papers for project stakeholders.
  • All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • High level leadership and design of large scale, complex/high risk projects (SFIA Code: PRMG 6)
  • High level of project management skills, with the ability to achieve successful project outcomes (SFIA Code: PRMG 6 (NHS: Drive for Results)
  • Ability to use high level interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and communication skills appropriate to all stakeholders to create a strong client focus (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary project teams (NHS: Holding to Account) (NHS: Empowering Others)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders (SFIA Code: RLMT 5)
  • High level knowledge and application of project management methodologies (Prince 2) (SFIA Code: METL 5)
