The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Gynaecology Oncology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Be responsible for the coordination of complex cancer care from referral, through surgery to adjuvant treatment and follow up
- Provide education and support to patients and their families as they navigate through their care pathway
- Prepare pathology and radiology for discussion at the weekly multidisciplinary meetings
- Monitor and manage new, post operative follow ups and low risk clinic reviews
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Part Time (48 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $57.48 - $61.55 per hour
About Us
The Gynaecologic Oncology Unit at Gold Coast University Hospital consists of Gynaecologic Consultants, Advanced trainee, Registrar, Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and Administration support. The service provides care to women with cancer, pre cancer and prophylactic surgery from Gold Coast to Northern NSW, as part of the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer (QCGC).
The team works closely with Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Palliative care, Radiologist, Pathologists and Allied Health, which make up the multidisciplinary team (MDT). Education, research and trials are ongoing in providing supportive care for women and their families. Timely access to clinics, surgery, ongoing treatment modalities and follow up are provided and closely monitored.
