About the role
This accredited training position, based primarily at Caboolture, provides high‑quality alcohol and other drug assessment and treatment under the supervision of RANZCP and AChAM‑accredited supervisors. The role includes comprehensive assessment and formulation, development of detailed management plans with a focus on alcohol and drug concerns, and consideration of clinical complexity, investigations and physical health needs. It requires effective liaison with other services to support holistic care, excellence in communication with consumers and families, and active contribution to multidisciplinary team meetings. The position involves using evidence‑based guidelines, participating in education activities, completing required medical administrative tasks, and practising in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2016 and Human Rights Act 2019.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide comprehensive assessment and formulation of consumers referred to the service.
- Formulate detailed management plans including a focus on the alcohol and drug aspects of consumer care
- Consideration of appropriate investigations, clinical complexity and physical health needs of consumers
- Liaise with other services as appropriate to meet consumer's holistic needs
- Practice excellence in communication with consumers and their families/carers
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Utilise clinical practice guidelines and evidence-based care principles.
- Participation in departmental and hospital educational activities as appropriate.
- Perform medical administrative tasks as required.
- Practice in line with the Mental Health Act 2016 and the Human Rights Act 2019.
