Your new role:
As a Registered Nurse in the Central Sterilisation Department, you will play a key role in ensuring reusable medical devices are safely reprocessed to the highest industry standards. Working within a collaborative healthcare team, you will support safe surgical and clinical care while contributing to a positive and efficient workplace culture.
In this role, you will:
- Perform all stages of reusable medical device reprocessing including decontamination, inspection, wrapping, sterilisation and loan equipment management
- Deliver safe, evidence-based practice in accordance with AS5369:2023 standards and organisational policies
- Support shift coordination, workload management and effective communication within the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, continuous learning and a culture focused on patient safety and excellence
About you:
You are a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and values teamwork, quality and patient safety.
You will bring:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
- Strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to safe sterilisation and infection prevention practices
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Previous experience in a sterilisation or perioperative environment and/or a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (HLT37015) will be highly regarded

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
