Your new role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Nurse to join the Elective Surgery Access Team (ESAT) at QEII Jubilee Hospital, where you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centred elective surgery care and waitlist management.
- Provide advanced clinical leadership, care coordination and pre-operative planning for elective surgical patients with complex care needs.
- Manage and support patients throughout their pre-operative journey, ensuring timely access to surgery and achievement of National Elective Surgery Target (NEST) KPIs.
- Act as a senior clinical resource for nursing and administrative staff, supporting best practice, clinical decision-making, quality improvement and service delivery outcomes.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to optimise theatre planning, waitlist management, patient flow and safe, evidence-based care practices.
About you:
You are a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse with strong clinical leadership skills and a passion for delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care within a complex healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in elective surgery planning, pre-operative care coordination and waitlist management practices.
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking, problem-solving and organisational skills to manage complex patient care and competing priorities effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships, mentor staff and contribute positively to team culture and service improvement.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, quality improvement and achieving high standards of patient care and organisational performance.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
