Your new role:

As a senior leader within Radiation Oncology, you will provide operational management, advanced clinical expertise and day-to-day leadership across radiation therapy treatment, pre-treatment and quality assurance services. You'll play a key role in ensuring safe, evidence-based and high-quality patient care while supporting continuous improvement, staff development and service innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and support a team of Radiation Therapists across treatment and planning services
  • Deliver specialist clinical expertise in radiation therapy treatment and planning
  • Drive quality assurance activities, audits and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists and multidisciplinary teams

About you:

You are an experienced and collaborative Radiation Therapist with strong clinical leadership capability and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You thrive in complex clinical environments, communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and are committed to continuous improvement and evidence-based practice.

You will bring:

  • Specialist expertise in radiation therapy treatment, planning and quality assurance
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to make complex clinical decisions with confidence and professionalism
  • Experience driving quality improvement and service development initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

About us:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Cancer Services is a highly developed, multidisciplinary cancer service in one of Australia's largest teaching hospitals.

The hospital provides a comprehensive adult cancer service encompassing haematological, surgical, and medical and radiation oncology specialities.

Unique features of the PAH Cancer Services include:

  • An established intellectual environment and strong research culture that brings together research scientists and clinicians across disciplines, and
  • Strong tradition of basic and clinical research with particular success in research translation.

In addition, there are a range of multidisciplinary cancer clinics involving all tumour sites, existence of two large tissue banks, large clinical trials department and staff with national and International reputation.

Cancer Services are the State Referral Centre for some rare malignancies and provides highly specialised care for Head and Neck Cancer, Lung Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Breast Cancer, Melanoma, Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer, Urological Cancers, Hepatobiliary Cancer, Germ Cell Tumours, Sarcoma, Spinal Tumours, High Grade Lymphoma and Acute Leukaemia.
