About your role

As a Purchasing Officer, you will work collaboratively within a dedicated Procurement & Supply team to support the effective delivery of transactional purchasing services across Metro South Health. 

In this role, you will:

  • Support purchasing, inventory management and invoice verification activities
  • Assist with receipt reconciliation and management of back-order reporting
  • Provide contract management and transactional procurement support
  • Respond to customer, vendor and accounts payable enquiries
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders
  • Deliver training and ongoing support to customers where required
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team environment
  • Ensure compliance with service quality, workplace health and safety standards

About you

You are a proactive and organised professional with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service. You thrive in a team environment and can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

You will demonstrate:

  • Experience using S/4HANA or a similar procurement/ERP system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar software
  • A strong understanding of Purchase to Pay processes and accountabilities
  • Excellent communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to problem solve and respond to complex enquiries
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support team members
  • A commitment to respectful, inclusive and professional workplace practices
