About the role
The Registered Nurse Training Program (RNTP) – Chronic Disease focus is a 24-month contract, a rotation position across Cardiac Rehabilitation Service, Heart Failure Service, Lung Health Team and PICs. The RNTP provides opportunities to enhance your nursing skills within the specialised multidisciplinary teams of these services. The RNTP RN will gain valuable clinical experience while undertaking work-place learning and peer-reviewed assessment to facilitate the development of advanced clinical knowledge in chronic disease management. Supported time to manage and access resources will be provided to RNs undertaking postgraduate studies.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to deliver competent nursing care in complex situations while providing support to other team members.
- Ability to communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional nursing care.
- Demonstrated high standard of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to provide patient and family centred care to the patient using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Nurse.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to quality improvement processes.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
