The purpose of this role is to provide multidisciplinary pathology services across Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Transfusion, Microbiology and Specimen Reception within a 24-hour laboratory service supporting Redcliffe Hospital and Metro North Health.

What you'll do

In this role you will perform and validate diagnostic testing across multiple pathology disciplines, apply scientific judgement to complex investigations, prioritise and process specimens independently, provide scientific advice and support to clinicians and laboratory staff, participate in continuous shift rostering, contribute to quality and accreditation activities, support service improvement initiatives, and assist in the supervision and education of less experienced staff and support personnel.

About you

We are searching for someone who:

• Holds a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Science
• Has experience in multidisciplinary pathology laboratory environments
• Can work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
• Has strong scientific problem-solving and analytical skills
• Has experience with Laboratory Information Systems and related software
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills within a 24/7 service environment
