What your day could look like
As an Information Security Governance and Risk Officer, you'll help safeguard the information that underpins patient care and community trust. From shaping security practices to working closely with clinical, digital and corporate teams, your work supports safe services and confident decision-making across our health service.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Strengthening organisation-wide information security and risk practices that protect patients and staff
- Partnering with diverse teams to embed shared understanding of cyber and information risk
- Guiding assessments and improvements that lift security maturity and compliance
- Turning insights into practical actions that improve resilience and readiness
Let's talk about you!
You bring both expertise and empathy to complex challenges. You're thoughtful, collaborative, and driven by purpose—knowing that strong governance quietly enables great care. You take pride in helping teams feel informed, supported and confident, even in high‑risk or fast‑changing environments. You're not just managing risk; you're enabling safer outcomes for a whole community.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Strong experience in information security governance, risk assessment and control design
- Sound knowledge of contemporary security frameworks and legislation in complex ICT settings
- The ability to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance
- A values‑led approach that reflects compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage
You'll stand out if you have experience in healthcare or large service organisations and/or relevant security certifications or postgraduate study.
In this role, your impact is clear: building trust, reducing risk, and protecting what matters most—people.
