As a TAFE Queensland Nursing Teacher, you will play a critical role in preparing students with the clinical capability, confidence, and professionalism required to succeed as Enrolled Nurses.
This is a unique opportunity to bring your real-world experience into the classroom and clinical environment, guiding students through hands-on learning, supporting them through industry placement, and helping them transition into rewarding careers in a high demand sector with strong employment outcomes.
We have exciting opportunities available to support delivery of our Nursing programs across Semester 2, 2026 and into Semester 1, 2027. Positions are available across TAFE Queensland’s Brisbane campus locations, including:
- North: Caboolture and Redcliffe
- Central: South Bank
- South: Alexandra Hills and Loganlea
We are seeking passionate and experienced professionals for casual and temporary part-time and/or full-time roles, available until 25 June 2027.
These positions report to the Educational Team Leader.
Salary
The salary range for a full-time Teacher 4 to Senior Teacher 3 is $105,218.10 - $116,332.13 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary (dependent on qualifications held).
The casual hourly rate for a Teacher is $115.32 plus superannuation.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed:
- Possession of Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent relevant qualification in education.
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse.
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in the health and nursing industry is required.
Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials:

- TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools.
- TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.
- TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor.
- TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development.
- TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor.
- Higher level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided.
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided.
- Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
- Current Queensland Driver’s license.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
Highly desirable
- High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems)
