About us:
The Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers a large geographic area with a diverse and growing population. The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.

The Cairns Special Care Nursery is a level 5 neonatal service that delivers safe and responsive neonatal inpatient care to newborns from 29 weeks gestation and 1000 grams. Through the provision of a Level 5 clinical services capability framework neonatal care provided is sustainable, effective and efficient in health promotion, early intervention, diagnosis and illness management and discharge planning to support transition to home.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will…..
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager, implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
- Responsible for the quality, validity and integrity of information collected for the NEODATA database and providing support and education to other team members in the unit.
- Generate discharge summaries/letters from database for medical review and forward to relevant support facilities.
