The purpose of this role is to deliver advanced Cytology services including specimen preparation, examination, screening and fine needle aspiration support, ensuring high-quality diagnostic outcomes within Anatomical Pathology services.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform complex cytology specimen preparation and analysis, participate in Fine Needle Aspirate services including specimen adequacy assessment, apply scientific judgement to screening and validation activities, provide cytological advice to staff and stakeholders, contribute to service improvement and quality initiatives, support laboratory practices and protocols, assist in the supervision and development of less experienced staff, and contribute to NATA/ISO accreditation and quality compliance activities.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Has extensive experience in Cytology or Anatomical Pathology services
- Holds relevant qualifications in Cytology or a related discipline
- Can apply advanced scientific and clinical judgement independently
- Has experience in fine needle aspiration services and specimen analysis
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Can contribute to quality improvement and staff development initiatives
