Pharmacist Senior - Clinical Educator

The position of Pharmacist Senior - Clinical Educator will provide high level clinical pharmacy services and day to day clinical supervision and support to less experienced pharmacy practitioners in high acuity and complex inpatient units. Facilitate education and training of undergraduate, intern, resident, general level pharmacists and pharmacy support staff in clinical and hospital pharmacy practice. Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of pharmacy practitioner development programs, particularly for paediatric practice, in liaison with existing conjoint positions, preceptors and education and training pharmacist.

About the Team
CHQ Pharmacy is dedicated to providing and supporting high quality clinical and medication management services to the children and young people of CHQ. The pharmacy service has a staff of approximately 110, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, administrative staff and support staff. The pharmacy team provides services to inpatients, outpatients, hospital in the home, cancer care services, poisons information, aseptic compounding, clinical trials along with safety, quality and governance. The Queensland Poisons Information Service is part of CHQ Pharmacy and provides 24 hour a day emergency service in cases of poisoning.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:
- Deliver high level clinical pharmacy services within a variety of complex paediatric caseloads in an acute hospital setting in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision. Services will be predominantly provided to patients admitted to hospital and may also include provision of services in outpatient pharmacy clinics.
- Promote a culture of continuous education, learning and skills development for undergraduate, intern, resident, general level and new-to-hospital pharmacists.
- Participate in the continued development and implementation of pharmacist training programs within Queensland Health by collaborating with site-based intern preceptors, other clinical educators and Directors of Pharmacy Services, including special focus on enhancing paediatric expertise for pharmacists across the state.
