The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality histology and Molecular Morphology services, supporting specialised diagnostic testing, quality improvement initiatives and statewide referral services within Anatomical Pathology.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform diagnostic testing across Histology and Molecular Morphology services, apply scientific judgement in the analysis and validation of patient specimens, undertake specialised testing including immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridisation methods, contribute to research and protocol development activities, support quality and accreditation initiatives, provide education and supervision to less experienced staff, and work collaboratively across Anatomical Pathology services to support timely patient care outcomes.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Holds a relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or Science
- Has experience in Histology or Anatomical Pathology services
- Has knowledge of specialised testing methods such as IHC or ISH
- Can apply independent scientific judgement and troubleshooting skills
- Has strong communication and teamwork capabilities
- Can work flexibly across rostered operational hours when required
