About us:
Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed regional facility delivering a broad range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based healthcare services. The hospital provides emergency care, general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics and maternity, gynaecology, paediatrics, coronary and high dependency care, palliative care, medical imaging and pathology services.
Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics and speech pathology, alongside outreach and primary healthcare services, including the Boyne Valley Primary Health Care Centre and the newly acquired West Wing, expanding medical, surgical and private specialist care.
About the role:
- Deliver high-quality surgical services under the guidance of senior medical staff, supporting patient care across inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings.
- Manage and coordinate patient care, including assessments, treatment planning, clinical investigations, discharge planning and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Supervise, support and provide teaching to junior medical staff and medical students, ensuring high clinical standards, effective handovers and ongoing professional development.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend rosters, clinical meetings, case presentations and continuous medical education activities to support effective service delivery.
About you:
- MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia is mandatory for this position.
- Current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two years practice within the Australian healthcare system will be well regarded.
- Demonstrated skills in reviewing, analysing and evaluating patient care.
- High level of verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels of staff and hospital clients from a variety of backgrounds.
- Strong willingness to participate in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and commitment to continuing professional education including maintenance of personal knowledge and skills.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $169,389 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $134,489 - $147,585 p.a. (L4 – L9)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
