Your new role:
As the Nurse Unit Manager for Ward 2H, you will provide advanced clinical and operational leadership across a 30-bed surgical unit delivering high-quality, person-centred care across General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology and ENT services by:
- Leading and coordinating the delivery of safe, evidence-informed patient care and contemporary nursing practice
- Managing human, financial and material resources to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
- Driving quality improvement, clinical governance and patient safety initiatives across the ward
- Supporting and developing a positive team culture through mentoring, coaching and workforce development
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders to achieve service outcomes and performance targets
- Leading change management initiatives and service improvements aligned with organisational priorities
- Monitoring operational performance including rostering, budgeting and workforce planning
- Promoting education, research and continuous improvement within the clinical environment
About you:
You are an experienced and motivated nursing leader with a strong background in surgical services and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes with:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Extensive surgical nursing experience, including demonstrated leadership within an acute healthcare setting
- Proven ability to lead, engage and motivate multidisciplinary teams in a complex clinical environment
- Strong operational management experience including workforce planning, rostering and budget oversight
- Advanced communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and patient-centred care
- Highly developed problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded
