Permanent part-time position, 64 hours per fortnight.

Remuneration up to $320,240 p.a. (excluding Superannuation). 

We are looking for an exceptional leader to join the Minor Injury and Illness Clinic team in the role of Medical Director within Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. Previous experience in a managerial and/or leadership role is highly desirable.

The role of the Medical Director, Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical leadership and direction to benefit the patients accessing urgent care services in the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. It is the role of the Medical Director to steward the growth and maturation of this model of care throughout both SCHHS and the broader public healthcare system.

As a Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service employee your salary includes:

Base salary comprising of between:

  • $89.86 - $103.79 p.h. L13 – L18 (FRACGP)
  • $103.79 - $124.12 p.h. L18 – L25 (FRACGP-RG, FARGP, FACCRM)

Standard allowances (additional to base salary):

  • Motor vehicle allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
    • $23,395 p.a. L18 - L24 
    • $28,408 p.a. L25
  • Professional development allowance (pro rata for Part-time)
    • $22,145 p.a.
  • Overtime and on-call allowances (paid by exception)
  • Generous superannuation of up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Annual leave loading

The Sunshine Coast is known for its beautiful beaches, hinterland scenery and subtropical climate. The Health Service is located across the Sunshine Coast region, with five hospital campuses including Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) serving a population around 500,000 people.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north. We care for our communities through Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Gympie Hospital, Maleny Soldier's Memorial Hospital, and Caloundra Health Service which includes a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic. We also provide care at a number of community and mental health sites, as well as Glenbrook Residential Aged Care.

You will provide high quality Specialist General Practitioner care for our community, with a focus on leading safe care, driving quality improvement and innovation, and collaboratively contributing to department growth and development within a multidisciplinary team.

In addition to your clinical and professional expertise, you must have skills in managing people, leadership and sustainable financial decision accountability.
