About the role

This role offers the opportunity to provide continuity-of-care midwifery to an allocated caseload of women across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. Based within the Midwifery Group Practice at the Cooktown Multi-Purpose Health Service, you'll also support women and families across surrounding remote communities. Working in close partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners, Health Workers, Allied Health Clinicians and the wider maternity team, you will deliver culturally safe, evidence-based and woman-centred care in line with best practice and professional standards.

You'll be supported by an experienced Midwifery Unit Manager, senior midwives and an allocated preceptor, enabling you to grow your skills while contributing meaningfully to community-led maternity care.
