About the role:
- Act as a key pharmacy support professional by preparing, dispensing, and supplying medications from prescriptions and inpatient charts, while also compounding non-sterile products to help deliver high-standard medication services at Rockhampton Hospital.
- Take ownership of pharmacy logistics including ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing pharmaceuticals, managing Imprest systems in ward areas, rotating stock, monitoring expiry dates, and processing ward returned drugs to keep everything organised and compliant.
- Play an active team role by participating in the departmental roster, inputting and maintaining pharmacy data, assisting with Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme claims, and contributing to quality improvement activities and staff development programs.
- Support and grow the team by helping train and mentor other pharmacy support staff, while always working in accordance with Queensland Health policies, standards, and legislative requirements.
About you:
- You hold (or are committed to obtaining) the mandatory Certificate III in Community Pharmacy (SIR30116) or Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT37121), and you understand the requirement to complete HLTPHA001 – Maintain Pharmaceutical Imprest to legally undertake Controlled Drug Imprest duties.
- You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally, sensitively, and effectively with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team.
- You are confidently competent with computers and demonstrate sound organisational skills, along with the ability to quickly learn pharmacy systems, inventory management, dispensing processes, and relevant legislation.
- You are a reliable team player who can work under the direction of a registered pharmacist, showing initiative, maturity, and responsibility while contributing positively to the pharmacy team at Rockhampton Hospital.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $82,130 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $34.53 - $36.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
