We are seeking dynamic and innovative educators to join TAFE Queensland’s Carpentry Talent Pool. As a leading provider of vocational education and training, TAFE Queensland is committed to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant training that equips learners with the skills they need to succeed in the construction sector. 

We are currently inviting expressions of interest from experienced carpentry professionals with a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of tradespeople. Strong industry experience across areas such as residential and commercial construction, framing, finishing, and workplace safety is highly regarded. 

If you do not currently hold the required Training and Assessment qualification, we will support you to obtain it.

As a valued member of the teaching and delivery team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of quality learning experiences for a diverse range of students through:

  • Attractive Remuneration - Full-time Teacher salaries range from $92,930.03 to $116,332.13 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), plus 12.75% superannuation and a suite of employee benefits.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements

a. Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;

  • CPC30220 - Certificate III in Carpentry or Equivalent; with
  • CPC10120 - Certificate I in Construction or Equivalent;
  • CPC20220 - Certificate II in Construction Pathways or Equivalent.

b. Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: 

  • TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or 
  • TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or 
  • TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or 
  • TAE50122 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or 
  • TAE50111 TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or 
  • TAE50211 or TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development; or 
  • A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials: 
    • TAESS00024 - VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor; or 
    • TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 - Assessor Skills Set or its successor; or 
    • Higher level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland); and 

c.  Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;

d. Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;

e. Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment.
