The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Anaesthetic and Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Collaborate with Nurse Unit Manager and Educators on all aspects of training
  • Assist with performance planning, review programs, and mentoring clinical staff
  • Act as a resource for clinical care needs and facilitate staff development
  • Be accountable for clinical decisions and manage unsafe practices appropriately

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time and permanent part time (one full time position and two part time positions, 74 and 56 hours per fortnight)
  • Base salary ranging from $113 979 - $122 048 per annum or $57.48 - $61.55 per hour

About Us

The Gold Coast Hospital Perioperative Service is located on the second floor of D block Gold Coast University Hospital and services patients requiring elective and emergency surgical procedures for the Gold Coast district, which extends from south of the Logan River to the Queensland-New South Wales (NSW) border at Tweed heads and west to Beechmont and Tamborine Mountain. Also incorporating emergency cases from Northern NSW as required.

About the Role

The Perioperative Services unit currently have one permanent full time and two permanent part time opportunities for skilled Clinical Nurses (Anaesthetics and Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit) to join our team. These opportunities are for following positions:

  • The Clinical Nurse (Perioperative Post Anaesthetic Care Unit and Day Surgical Unit) position has one permanent full time, and one permanent part time position (56 hours per fortnight) available
  • The Clinical Nurse (Perioperative Anaesthetics and Surgical Admission Unit) position has one permanent part-time position (74 hours per fortnight) available
